SPAN 340. ADVANCED GRAMMAR. This course is a systematic approach to how Spanish grammar functions. Its main goal is to enhance the students? ability to control language and adjust their discourse to its intended purpose and to a particular audience. Students read and analyze authentic materials stemming from printed texts and other media, and study them in order to understand, explain, and discuss how grammar is used. Required of all Spanish majors and those desiring teacher certification in Spanish. Prerequisite: 300-level Spanish course beyond 301. Fall semester only, three hours.
