Description

SOCI 331. LAW AND SOCIETY. An exploration of the relationship among law, legal systems, and social structure. Topics include the origin and development of law, sociological theories of law, the relationship of Christianity and the law in the West, analysis and cross-cultural comparisons of dispute resolutions and other judicial processes (includes legal anthropology), comparisons of modern legal systems, the social psychology of legal decision-making including jury studies, and the legal profession. Three hours.
