SOCI 304. SOCIOLOGY OF HEALTH AND MEDICINE. This course is designed to introduce students to the social determinants of health and well-being. We will consider how health care professions and social scientists define and conceptualize population level health outcomes and disparities. We also examine how health outcomes are patterned according to sex, race and class. Prerequisite: Sociology 101, Biology 101, or permission of the instructor. Three hours.
