Description
MUSI 330. WORLD MUSIC: A SELECTIVE SURVEY OF NON-WESTERN MUSIC. This course will study the musical systems of Asian music, comparing and contrasting the musical/cultural traditions of East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Oceania (including, but not limited to, China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Indonesia), and the Middle East. Alternate years, Semester course, three hours.
