Description
MATH 125. EXPERIMENTAL MATHEMATICS. This course serves as an introduction into the mathematics major and to thinking mathematically. Students will be exposed to mathematical topics that form the curriculum beyond calculus as well as basic programming and mathematical proofs. A large part of the class will be mathematical experiments where the students are asked to generate data using code they write, find patterns in the data generated, establish conjectures, and work to prove their conjectures. Corequisite: MATH 161. Fall Semester only, three hours.
