HIST 265. HISTORY OF SPAIN, 1500 TO PRESENT. An introduction to Spanish history from the union of the Crowns of Castile and Aragon to the present day. The central theme of the course is the problem of identity—how have the Iberian peoples identified themselves over time—and the political, religious, economic, and social difficulties historically associated with identity. Alternate years, fall semester only, three hours.
