ENGL 242. 19th CENTURY ENGLISH NOVEL. A study of major works by authors from the great age of the English novel, including Austen, the Brontes, Dickens, Eliot, Hardy, Conrad, and Wilde. Prerequisite English 202 or by permission. Alternate years, fall semester only, three hours.
