Description
ENGL 222. FANTASY LITERATURE. This course is designed to introduce students to the major features that characterize fantasy as a literary genre. Students will read 16-18 fantasy novels, including authors such as C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, Madeleine L’Engle, Ursula LeGuin, and J. K. Rowling. Class time will be spent analyzing these novels and critiquing them as works of literature. Alternate years, spring semester only, three hours.
