BIOL 414. INTRODUCTION TO BIOINFORMATICS. This research-based course will provide an introduction to the fundamental bioinformatics tools used in the analysis of genes and genomes. Following an introduction to the genome browser and BLAST searches, students will complete a guided annotation of the coding exons of a unique gene. Upon completion, research data will be submitted for consideration of publication. Prerequisite: Biology 233. Spring semester, one hour.
