Description

BIOL 305. PLANT TAXONOMY. A study of the identification, classification, and natural history of plants. This course focuses on the characteristics of woody and non-woody plants that are key to identification, as well as their uses by humans and wildlife. Topics include plant taxonomy and classification, plant anatomy, plant reproduction, patterns of plant diversity, and methods for analyzing these patterns and preserving plant specimens. Prerequisites: Biology 101 and 102. Alternate years, fall semester, four hours.
