Description

THEA 262. DESIGN FOR THE THEATRE. Focuses on the visual aspects of theatrical production, including set design, costume design, and lighting design. Through group and individual projects, students will work through the design process: analyzing the text, doing research, formulating a production concept, and applying the elements of design to create a visual world for the actors to inhabit. They will also practice the skills necessary to communicate their ideas to both a director and technical crews: drawing, drafting, model building, and organizational paperwork. Semester course, three hours.
