Description

SEDU 411. SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENT TEACHING. Student teaching is a capstone rigorous experience that provides the opportunity to practice and demonstrate the practices of a competent Special Education teacher under the supervision of a certified Special Educator. At the completion of the student teaching experiences, student teachers are expected to demonstrate mastery in implementing the competencies that have been developed from coursework. Student teachers who achieve the necessary competencies will be recommended for special education certification. Issuance of certification will hinge on the completion of all graduation and certification requirements, including student teaching, and must be initiated by the teaching candidate through the office of the College Certifying Officer. Pre-requisites: All special education coursework (other than SEDU 412) must be successfully completed and the teacher candidate must have the approval of the Department Chair.
