MUSI 306. VOCAL ARRANGING. This course provides hands-on instruction in the methods and techniques of making musical arrangements for various vocal ensembles in various genres. Topics include vocal ranges and characteristics, standard vocal ensembles, and case studies such as the music of John Rutter, Arvo Part, Franz Schubert, Leonard Bernstein, the Beatles, Zac Brown Band, Beach Boys, Manhattan Transfer, and the Pentatonix. Prerequisite: MUSI 203 or instructor permission. Fall Semester Only, two hours.
