MUSI 304. ORCHESTRATION. A study of the variety and characteristics of the brass, reed, string and percussion instrument families, progressing from solo instruments through scoring for full band and orchestra. The ability to read music and a basic understanding of music theory is desirable but not required. Prerequisite: Music 204. Students may receive credit for one of Music 304 or Music 305. Two hours.
