Description

MECE 417. DESIGN OF OPTIMAL STRUCTURES. Methods and techniques for designing optimal structures for high-performance applications in which stiffness, strength, and light weight are paramount. Includes load-case analysis, stress visualization and computation, FEM-based structural optimization, and advanced materials and processes. Prerequisites: senior mechanical engineering standing. Offered periodically, semester course, three hours.
