MECE 414. PRINCIPLES OF HEATING, VENTILATING, AND AIR CONDITIONING. Analysis and design tactics for systems used to condition air in buildings. Topics include psychometrics, air filters, thermal properties of wall construction(s), solar heat gains, aspects of heat load calculations, sizing of water systems and pumps, sizing of duct systems and fans, and refrigeration. Prerequisite: Mechanical Engineering 326. Fall semester only, three hours.
