Description

MECE 321. ADVANCED THERMODYNAMICS. Application of thermodynamic principles to energy conversion engineering. Topics include equations of state, fluid properties, conservation of energy, second law of thermodynamics, power cycles, exergy analysis, gas and gas-vapor mixtures, chemical reactions and equilibrium. Students will learn to use property databases to design and analyze energy conversion systems. Prerequisite: Mathematics 261 and Mechanical Engineering 214. Fall semester only, three hours.
