Description
MATH 210. COMBINATORICS. A study of the foundations of mathematics in the context of combinatorial analysis with an emphasis on mathematical writing. Representative topics include set theory, functions, proof techniques, induction, enumeration techniques, the pigeon-hole principle, binomial and multinomial coefficients, the principle of inclusion-exclusion, and generating functions. Corequisite: Mathematics 162. Fall semester only, three hours.
