Description

MATH 119. TOPICS IN CONTEMPORARY MATHEMATICS. This course will consist of a survey of a number of mathematical ideas on an introductory level. Topics may include graph theory, symmetry, sequences, fractals, fair-division algorithms, apportionment, financial math, and voting theory. This course requires only basic algebra skills and so is recommended to meet the Quantitative/Logical Reasoning requirement. Spring semester only, three hours.
