Description
FREN 201. INTERMEDIATE FRENCH I. The first of a two-semester intermediate sequence that focuses on refining and solidifying interpersonal communication skills (speaking listening, writing, reading). Students progress toward paragraph-length discourse in speaking and writing while expanding their command of intermediate-level vocabulary and grammar. Students also acquire awareness of history, cultural practices, and perspectives from reading, listening and watching cultural productions from throughout the French-speaking world. Through in-class discussions, students develop the knowledge and wisdom to navigate intercultural situations. Taught in French. Prerequisite: French 102 or placement exam. Three hours.
