FNCE 250. Principles of Financial Planning. This course is designed as an introductory course, exposing students to the personal financial planning profession. Students will gain an understanding of how to conduct themselves within professional and regulatory boundaries, learn the ethical environment of financial planning, and gain an understanding of the fiduciary responsibility as a financial planner. Students will explore the psychology of financial planning, gaining insight into client behavior and motivation, biases, and explore effective communication. Students will develop a practical perspective on the field of financial planning as they learn to analyze personal financial statements, understand time value of money concepts, advise clients regarding the management of debt, gain an understanding of federal and state regulatory requirements, and explore education planning. Three hours.
