Description

EXER 253. ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY I. This course will introduce the student to human anatomy and physiology with emphasis on the various body systems and how they integrate with one another. The effect of exercise on each system will be explored and clinical examples will be discussed. Laboratory exercises will include simulations using physical and computer models, as well as introductory tissue dissections. Two lectures and one lab per week. Prerequisite: One of Exercise Science 101 or Biology 101. Equivalent courses: Biology 341 (Mammalian Anatomy) 346 (Mammalian Physiology). Fall semester only, four hours.
