Description

EXER 251. PREVENTION AND CARE OF INJURIES. The purpose of this course is to give the students the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent and care for athletic related injuries. The topics covered include fitness training, nutrition, sports equipment, emergency situations, blood borne pathogens, environmental conditions, taping techniques, injury rehabilitation, psychological concerns with injuries, recognition of injuries, and the basic anatomy of and common injuries to the different parts of the body. There is an additional fee required for this course. Prerequisite: Exercise Science 101.
Spring semester only, three hours.
