Description

ENGL 320. SOUTHERN LITERATURE. With significant emphasis on the works of William Faulkner, this course explores the great flowering of literature in the American South in the twentieth century. Such writers as Robert Penn Warren, Richard Wright, Eudora Welty, Flannery O’Connor, and Walker Percy are also considered, especially as they seek to move beyond the “aesthetic of memory” that characterizes Faulkner’s novels. sOffered periodically, semester course, three hours.
