Description
ENGL 318. AMERICAN RENAISSANCE. An opportunity for students to explore an unusually productive phase in the history of ideas in America through literature of outstanding quality including works of Emerson, Thoreau, Hawthorne, Melville, and Whitman. The dynamics of interaction among members of that group will be studied. Prerequisite: English 203 or by permission. Alternate years, semester course, three hours.
