499. HONORS: RESEARCH/ISSUES IN EDUCATION. A capstone course for senior credential candidates which re-examines the major philosophical, historical, social, political and psychological issues as they impact the teaching profession. Promotes professional level skills in reading, writing, debating, and the formation of critical analysis and problem solving skills as they relate to the field of education. Prerequisites: professional QPA of 3.50, MQPA/CQPA of 3.00 and consent of the department. A thesis is required for presentation before committee consisting of professors in education and the student's major field (secondary) or affiliated department (elementary). Semester course, four hours.
